With the sun out, many men and women find themselves motivated to work towards a better body. However, despite your best effort, you may find that you are plagued with pockets of stubborn fat that do not respond to diet and exercise.
Fed-up with that final bulge, many come to Northwest Face & Body curious as to whether CoolSculpting could help them finally achieve a slimmed down body.
Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle
CoolSculpting is not meant to be used as a tool for weight loss. In fact, for best results, you will want to be within 20 to 30 pounds of your ideal and maintainable weight. While making changes to your lifestyle are not required, at Northwest Face & Body, we do encourage our patients to stay active and eat a balanced diet. Having finally achieved their ideal body, many men and women are motivated to live out an increasingly healthy lifestyle.
Pinch an Inch
For CoolSculpting to work, the attachment must be able to “latch” on to the fat. Thus, in order for your CoolSculpting treatment to be successful, you must have enough “pinchable” fat. While not exact, one should have no less or no more than a couple inches of thickness. As the applicator must be able to grab on, CoolSculpting is ideal for stubborn that commonly bulge such as the flank (“love handles” or “muffin top”), stomach, and inner and outer thighs.
Excess Fat, Not Excess Skin
CoolSculpting targets only excess fat, not excess skin. When considering CoolSculpting, it is encouraged to also consider your skin’s elasticity. Good skin elasticity equates to good results as your skin is able to “spring” back and hug your new curves. If you have poor skin elasticity or if excess skin is an issue, a body contouring procedure, such as a tummy tuck, may prove to be a better option.
With an average reduction of 20 to 25 percent in the treated area, CoolSculpting touts remarkable results. However, the results are gradual and become increasingly apparent as your body metabolizes and processes the destroyed fat cells. While results are first noticeable after about three weeks, full results are typically seen by the third month. Although not suddenly conspicuous, be prepared for compliments—others will notice the difference!
