Do You Go Down A Size With A Breast Lift?

Cosmetic breast surgery is most often associated with breast augmentation. However, there are several breast surgeries that patients undergo. Another commonly performed breast surgery is a breast lift. Breast lifts address breast ptosis, or sagging, and correct it by removing unnecessary skin and tissue and repositioning the nipple higher onto the reshaped breast. However, do you go down a size with a breast lift?

Yes, it is normal to go down a cup size or so during a breast lift surgery. However, this will vary based on the severity of the breast sagging present. Those with pseudoptosis or more mild sagging may not need much skin or tissue removed to achieve the desired result. In these cases, there may be only a slight change in the size of the breasts.

For more pronounced breast sagging though, there usually is more of a reduction. Patients are often okay with this because heavy, sagging breasts can cause back and neck pain as well as other uncomfortable symptoms.
